Pretoria – A now divorced woman has discovered that if you cheat on your spouse, you lose.

A court ruled that she would lose half of her husband’s pension for leaving him and their children with another man.

The woman, who cannot be identified as this is a divorce case, went to the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria to seek a divorce from her husband. She also demanded payment of half of her husband’s pension.

The husband, on the other hand, said she should not get a single penny for his “cheating wife”, and half of his public pension fund, which a cohabiting spouse is normally entitled to, should go to her. He said it should be forfeited because of his long-term behavior.

The couple married in 2009, but the husband said their relationship had deteriorated over the years as his wife left home without telling her where she was going, sometimes for months.Soon after getting married, she enrolled in nursing school and stayed there. But she wouldn’t tell him where her nursing school was.

The husband eventually called a family reunion and said she was not looking after him and the children.The woman was reprimanded but nothing improved.

The husband said in court that when his wife was picked up in the morning by an unidentified man and asked where she was going, she only said, “I told you where I was going.”

He said she used to come home only three times a year. When she finally came back, she came home with her baby. When she asked whose child she was, she replied, “It has nothing to do with you.”

The husband, a teacher, said his patience had run out and he could no longer live with a wife who was not taking care of him and the children.

Meanwhile, the wife told the court that she was estranged because her husband refused to have sex with her for a year.When questioned about this, the husband told Judge David Makhoba that this was true, he didn’t want to have sex with her because she had an affair with another man.
